AVA
Retrun to 22q StoriesYou are here
Ava was diagnosed with 22q two weeks after birth while still in the hospital recovering from her first open heart surgery. During her first two years of life, we had the calcium issues, keeping it regulated seemed like mission impossible! Ava was diagnosed as "failure to thrive" at about a month of age due to poor eating/weight gain, along with a list that reads like a novel of setbacks and complications. Today, Ava is five, going on six in May, in Kindergarten and thriving! She is in ballet and tap classes, loves playing baseball with her brother, would live outside if you let her, and wants to play soccer this fall. We love our 22 cutie!
